All research that involves HPCA staff, patients, families and/or facilities must be approved by the HPCA Research Ethics Committee (REC) before a study begins. For more information please see The Role of HPCA REC

The document entitled Reviewers Evaluation Form will guide researchers on the criteria the Committee considers when reviewing studies.
To assist researchers in drawing up the Information to Participants and Informed Consent document, please make use of the Basic Elements of Informed Consent document.
Ethics approvals are valid for one year only to ensure continuous approval of a study, a Recertification form must be completed and submitted to the REC a couple of months prior to the anniversary of the approval.

Africa it is a leading cause of death in people who are co-infected with
HIV. The member organisations of the Hospice Palliative Care Association
(HPCA) provide care and support to large numbers of people living with HIV
and are ideally placed to make a significant contribution towards addressing
